Joe Paterno is available and brings a long history of winning teams. Not only that, he always donates his entire salary to the university's library which will insure that Fornderen Library gets an additional $ 2 mil per year. A winning coach and winning academic situation with this hire.

Chad Morris while you can get him. Should be able to recruit Houston and Dallas/Ft worth areas since he has been a succesful high school coach there and his offensive instincts compared to our present coach is like comparing a new Ferrarri with a 1957 TBird( the tbird was good in its day but do you want it for your everyday car?)

Mestengo- seriously- Barry wants to get back into coaching for a few years - with the right situation. We know one thing for sure- he could recruit the hell out of Texas kids.

GO PONIES!!!

SMU screwed itself for 20 years with high admission standards in football. That is the best thing Jones did for our program getting that changed. Now with better recruits being accepted and a solid salary for a new coach, SMU is a lot better job than some realize. Apparently, there are a lot of potential coaches lining up to talk to SMU about the job. We are in a lot better shape now to get a top coach than back in 2008.

I would look into bringing in Steve Kragthorpe or Jeff Bower as figureheads and try to keep Mason and Klemm.
