You are right on point. These kids, including the recruits, see the energy packed houses bring elsewhere. At SMU they play in front of friends and family. The UCF game should have been sold out. I could see the energy draining out of the team after that one.
There is some merit to what you both say, however, it has been pointed out numerous times how lax our coaches are/were. Players do notice and hear the fans, but personal pride and your coach up your [deleted] can motivate even the most unmotivated. Our fan support is weak and needs to dramatically improve, however, the team (players and coaches) need to take responsibility to work hard.
