I think even IF these players (if you are talking about HS kids) don't know who he is, those who surround and influence these players know who Larry "HOF" Brown is.

2 things really need to change on this board:

1) It is getting tiresome to hear the folks that will look for the bad news in anything - even the most obviously great news for SMU sports. Its old schtick that has no allure anymore - if it ever did.

2) If you aren't bright enough to pick up on sarcasm probably better not to post at all.

It's all on him to perform in and outside of the classroom. We're not going to build the team around him, so if he does well during his first year, makes the grades, and stays clean... good for him, and us. If not, then good bye and good luck.

I see this as a no lose situation. Other kids see how serious we are, and we have a real talent on the roster whichever increase interest further. Of he can't play it straight, we offload him after a year, in better shape than before.

I really hope he comes good, though.

Sounds like very high risk, high reward. I say why not? Get ready for LB to roll the dice on some questionable kids and work on bringing this program from the basement of the CUSA.

I'm having fun, excited bythe direction. This staff is really something. It has an expiration date, but that's ok. I'm sorta surprised how much wiggle room the program is giving itself right now, but I'm a fan

Unfortunately they didn't really get to talk about Brown or the potential of his recruiting because Bob Ryan ended up hogging the discussion on how Brown is a terrible hire for SMU and how we'll regret it very soon. Wilbon just said, "oh I guess you're not a big Brown supporter?" And that was about it..
