TCU had no secondary (like us this year) and Pitt had 4 total coaches and was without several key players including an all-league RB
I understand what you're saying. But look at TCU and Boise...they had to string together many winning seasons back in the late 90's/early 2000's before achieving the prominence they have today. It doesn't happen overnight- and we were a joke before. Yeah, JJ's $2 million salary should expedite things some, but at the end of the day I'm not paying his salary and as far as I know you aren't either- does anyone know where the CoC stands on JJ at the moment? Are they po'ed about the ASU ordeal? I would imagine that winning games could heal all wounds, but losing by 35 in Waco might not.

ECM - some of the CoC was supposedly po'ed about the ASU thing but not a majority.

June is not trying to win here. It is time to move on.
but, to whom?

Well, we can sit here and type away until the cows come home, but it won't make a bit of difference. About 20 people control the fate of the SMU football program, for better or worse. I guess it's a good problem to have though, all things considerd.

Come to the Boulevard, get in the stadium in time for kickoff, be loud and cheer like hell as the Ponies even up their record.
Go Mustangs!

Right on target. I was very disappointed with the way we didn't match up with Baylor, but Jones has to be measured by how things progress in October and November. September is going to be brutal and anyone who thought otherwise was being unrealistic.
Good excuses for sub par recruiting. Only measure a coach for Oct and Nov? The entire body of work needs to be measured unless you are a fool. Not necessarily talking about wins and losses but how you play The JJ to the death supporters are bring the excuses in abundance now.
We cannot recruit on the same level as Big 12 schools. That's just the way it will be for the foreseeable future. I see more talent on this team than we have had since the 80s and we have had more success without cheating than any time since Hayden Fry.

You honestly think we can't recruit on the same level as Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State and Baylor? You'd be amazed what a coach that gives a [deleted] about recruiting can do. Just because June can't land anyone worth a damn here doesn't mean no coach can.

Both soccer teams are trying their best to make the fball team look good by losing a majority of their games so far.

huh? We had quite a few nice highly rated kids locked and loaded to go to SMU before the ASU debacle.

Ha.
At least the women are 2-3 (with two one-goal losses to teams in the top 16 in RPI) and actually look like a soccer team this year now that they have a coach!

You're right. Losing the opener the last two years against Big 12 teams really put a damper on the second and third straight bowl games I have been to.
