We are playing for the "first postseason championship in program history".
Didn't realize that.

Any pics? How does our crowd look? Filling in? I'm stopping work now and getting my drinks lined up.

PonyPride wrote:Worth watching: Minnesota's starting center, Elliott Eliason, has started 35 of 36 games in which he has played this year, but sat out the Golden Gophers' NIT semifinal game against Florida State after spraining an ankle in practice.
He's out here warming up, but he looks like he's very tentative on that ankle, and the bruise is sticking up a couple of inches above his sock. Hard to say how much tape he has on that thing, but for the bruise to extend that high … that has to be an incredibly nasty sprain. Hats off to him for getting out here on the floor, trying to give it a go, but if he plays, it's hard to imagine he'll be able to come close to staying with Cannen Cunningham, Markus Kennedy, Ben Moore, Yanick Moreira, etc.
Eliason's stats aren't overwhelming, but he clearly is an important part of the team. He averages 6.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, and has a team-high 72 blocked shots (more than twice as many as runner-up Maurice Walker's 28, and 47 percent of the team's 153 blocks for the season).
Will be interesting to see if he plays.
Gophers are back out on the floor, and Eliason is in there, taking feeds from a manager in the low post, breaking out an array of mini-hooks, etc. Don't know much about him, but he is getting off the ground about as much as I do (which, as those who know me can attest, is not a huge compliment).
Starters have not yet been officially named, but he is not listed among the "probable" starters (which, of course, could be a smokescreen by those crafty Gophers…)
