Brown mentioned last year that his team needed an "east coast" toughness. His teams always had that quality. Not that we could have gotten him due to UT's sealing the deal, but this was always an issue w Turner. Won't be surprised that whatever his starter/back-up position on team may be, he will be a regular inclusion at the 4 min TO in 2nd half.

You have to think Ryan Manuel's time is going bye-bye in the car-car.

Where were you reading that, I looked at their rivals board and didn't see anything about Martin

edit: also, how did you read it anyway, as a Rivals subscriber can't you only read your team's board

When I had a subscription I had access to all boards.

What's the risk specifically? Some specific bball skill? Character-related? Just curious.

Didn't go into specifics. Just said "I'm the wrong person to ask. I could go very negative but will choose not to"

I didn't want to pressure the convo. That being said, LB has that magic touch a lot of coaches do not.

Most Rivals team sites have the "free boards," in addition to the "pay wall!"

Caught a little of Norm this morning and he was talking about it. Said look out for Larry Brown, talked up the transfer have Martins numbers and said we were loaded. Sung Larry Brown praises.

It sure is nice to randomly turn in on the radio and hearing them talk SMU in a pro town. I just can't believe where we are in hoops and how fast we got there. CRAZY.

Ah yes, I see now it was on the free boards. This was a gem

"Hard to imagine SMU having any sustained success once Brown leaves or more like retires. Crappy conference, zero history, probably sub par facilities..."

Hope to really take the basketball world by storm next year.

You'd be hard pressed to find a fanbase that is as stupid and ignorant as Kentucky basketball.

That, and claiming SMU/Larry Brown of $$$$ for recruits. This coming from a program that almost got shut down (twice?) for cheating. . . LAUGHABLE!

Whatever success he has at SMU will be erased by the NCAA. Before anyone over-reacts, this has been his track record. Both UCLA and KU were punished by the NCAA after Brown left. Once is a coincidence, twice is a trend. The utter irony is that his brushes with the NCAA enforcement committee prevented him from ever coaching at UNC**. KU was prevented from defending their 88 title with Manning because of it.

The only irony involved with any of that is a Kentucky fan talking down about a certain team's coach because he has two infractions in his past with the NCAA. Talk about needing a mirror.
