Not to worry. It will actually help SMU. Once you realize who and what Eric Dickerson is then you know he is about Eric Dickerson. He could flat out run and made a career out of it. As an intellectual or SMU graduate? he is a non-factor. He never seemed to understand the embarrassment of selling out and taking illegal benefits...actually gloated in it. Is that who we want representing us? Is he working? Amazing a guy with his career isn't on the networks but that is because he doesn't have anything relevant to say.

Again, as I listened to him on the radio replay for myself you could tell that he is still passionate about SMU just frustrated.

I still want to know, concretely, what "support" either he or JJ thinks has not been provided. What about the culture or the administration makes it so unwelcoming to guys like him (which he essentially says means black players in general don't feel welcome)? Not sure how much is venting and how much is truth, but I think Turner & Co owe it to the next coach and the folks footing his bill to find out and address it. He's coming to town for his fitness thing; good time to sit down with him and see what is real and what is self-serving BS.

I agree that is what should be done but do you think Turner truly cares enough about the football program to do that?

we had ZERO shot at Ricky Seals Jones anyway. He was committed to Texas and then changed to A&M. Now he is flat out dominant

I think Turner cares about what the checkbooks tell him to care about. I guess that is really the more important question, and how much weight the opinion of a guy like ED carries with them. We really are down to the last round in the chamber; hopefully these folks know that and do it right cuz there ain't no second chance.

When did he commit to aTm and could he have visited during his junior year on an unofficial like other players do.

Get a new staff that recruits and wins and ED will change his tune quickly. He'll be standing on the sidelines with a big smile and talking to the networks about how great SMU is.

I've had the opinion that it is already too late but I hope I'm wrong. Regardless, if there still is a chance, this is the last.

I've always been a fan of ED but I think he was out of line to bash SMU like I'm reading that he did. I do agree that there are many high school teams that could beat us (I said my son's HS team could have beaten us a couple of years ago) but what is that saying about the coach he apparently loves? Not too much. Also, how quickly ED has forgotten about SMU football. Our teams weren't much to write home about before Ron Meyer recruited him, James, and other good players. I think it's a shame he told his nephew not to take a visit, which is baffling since his nephew would have been coached by his close friend, JJ. Hmmmm? Eric needs to sit back, take a deep breath and maybe watch reruns of last season and the first 2 games of this season.

I look at Eric Dickerson like UGA looks at Herschel Walker, a living legend. We need to reach out to him and get him on the same page as the university. I would like to see him working out at practices like Herschel does every once in a while at Georgia.

Or does he think high schools could have beat those Hawaii Bowl teams?
