Why would the DC report this if they were so wrong? Why are these facts only coming up today?

The DC pulled that tweet a week ago. I guess they saw this thread and realized that many interpreted their tweet as a fact.

Not sure why anyone believed that tweet to begin with. It was posted before finals even started.

My grades for my two grad classes were posted last night. I do have some former students who were still taking exams this week though. Tonight would be a good warm-up for Michigan, hope MK is in the line-up.
That reminds me.. Wondering if for MK to be eligible that means grades have to 'post', as in showing up on my.smu (used to be access). That usually doesn't happen until hours after the grades are submitted. If so, if they weren't up last night, we need the profs to submit this am
And professors have 48 hours after a final to submit grades, but from what my daughter says it often takes longer than that.

Stallion is sadly correct. It should be more of a transparent process, though.

I took my final Saturday at 8am. Still no grade in.

What? As in, all the boosters should get inside information on how players are doing in class and what grade they are planning on giving players?
No, it shouldn't be more "transparent." MK's academic record is confidential, and should remain confidential, just the same as any other student's. If it is true that people "close" to MK are worried, that can only be because they assume either (1) he is actually incapable of making the necessary grade to meet the NCAA progress toward graduation requirement because he's not smart enough, or (2) he didn't do enough to get a legitimate grade, and SMU professors are not going to commit academic fraud by giving MK an undeserved grade just to keep him eligible.
For now, I am going to give MK more credit than that, and assume that MK is capable of and worked hard to do the same work required of other students in the classes he enrolled in.

No, the PROCESS of how grades are posted and timelines should be all very well known and professors should be held accountable. No, nothing should be transparent about MK's specific situation and his personal information should absolutely be kept confidential. The PROCESS should be completely transparent and should be universal for everyone, MK included.

Re: Kennedy eligible for UIC game, per Daily Campus
Remembering my undergraduate days, I don't think that process is as opaque as you think it is. Professors had to post final grades within a certain window after finals (I want to say 48 hours).
Everyone might be better served by getting it in sooner in this case, but that'd be a "favor" to MK and not an issue with the process. The rest of the reinstatement process could be revealed although I'm pretty confident LB and co know all the steps quite clearly.

They shouldn't even need to grade that paper or even look at it for that matter. The kid is here to ball.
