Terry Webster wrote:What I hear from some Xavier people up here is that Martin kind of gave up on school when he realized that he wasn't going to get any minutes. Little to do with not being able to do the work or an academic casualty. He wants to head overseas and see what he can do as opposed to being stuck on the bench. Once MK came back he just decided to move on.

Now that makes sense.

If KF is ever deemed ineligible due to grades I am pulling my season tix and giving up on SMU athletics forever. Not worth the time

Zero evidence that there is any danger of that

When JM came to SMU he was quoted - " I'm coming here to expand my network of contacts" - ie get LB to be a good reference for him when he goes pro. I'm sure he knew that his future was in Europe and a credible reference like LB would come in handy.

LB needed a plan B if KF didn't continue to develop. When KF showed his improvement and started getting serious minutes and with Ben E on the roster - JM knew he wasn't going to get meaningful minutes. Playing in mop up time isn't that thrilling for a 3 year Xavier starter.

So, both sides got what they wanted. LB- an insurance policy he didn't have to cash in and JM a solid pro reference.

No way LB takes minutes away from a developing KF for a one year rental .

If Keith ends up going down for grades then it is time once and for all to call for RGT's head. I have been been doing this for the past 10 years, but I hope everyone else realizes he is/has been the biggest part of our athletic program's problem...not to mention the financial mismanagement that is leading us to re-org. administration at our beloved alma mater. Down with RGT and 'Go Stangs!
