disagree on the band. They did not have a good night. Why do they do those show tunes early in the game. When we play tough teams that is going to be a real blanket to throw on the crowd. Someone who knows them please beg them to put those songs on the shelf - they are for the grandmothers in the crowd.

More loud songs. More cheering. Pick up the cheers the students are trying instead of starting one that competes and kills the mo.

Louder all the time. This isn't rocket science.

That was kind of funny and reminded me of my old ensemble days. The director looked none too pleased.

Yes. Two of the selections last night were terrible. I don't know what songs they were because, well, I have no idea what songs they were.

Screwing up Varsity is inexcusable.

One of the main reasons the real band doesn't sound as good as the alumni band is because there are so many saxes, piccolos (ugh), and mellophones close to the microphones. I'm not even going to go into asking why The Mustang Band needs to be miked in Moody.

whatever you call them - they sound like slow, boring show tunes. 1st two time outs every game. Bring the energy down 5 notches every time.

Watch a CBS game and write down the songs the bands play. I have been doing this and will publish results one day. We are way more current and 'pop' than you think. I've never heard a 'classical' or 'show tune' from the Mustang Band during bball, but tons of B10 and B12 bands play those constantly.

well then tell me the first two time out songs, if you can stay awake long though to write them down. If you don't know what they are ask your grandma.

They aren't show tunes. Lots of bands play show tunes, but the MB doesn't. And I wasn't in the band, I just sit next to them and have an encyclopedic knowledge of music.

glad you have a encyclopedic knowledge of music, so you can tell us which Lawrence Welk show those songs came from.

I do agree they have a decent number of "modern" songs in their repertoire now - more than they used to for sure - but a couple of the songs last night were kind of snoozers.

I can tell you that none have been featured by Lawrence Welk nor his orchestra.
