sadly Wade is gone, along with the 'Luv ya Blue' era. however, baby bubba is a pretty decent D coach.. Not that we could ever hire him since he is busy in the nfl.

could it be that SD is waiting until after the bowl game to name a new DC and staff?

Bum is gone. Wade is still alive, but no chance at getting him. He has already turned down the University of Houston in the past and that is his alma mater.

You are correct. IIRC Wade is coaching the D for LAR. Also,, IRRC Bum was a coach at SMU at one time.

Not sure which is worse.
Coach Chad reminds me of the guy hosting free dinners where they try to get you to buy an Index Annuity.

Yeah I'm sure he's going to be shocked. I'm sure he's done no research on SMU. I'm sure he has no idea what's been going on here since he's been at TCU recently.

The last few guys knew the deal as well but seeing it up close and personal 6-7 times a year is something no amount of "research" can prepare you to handle.

A co-worker said he heard on the radio somewhere that corner Texas DT Frank Okam is going to be defensive line coach. Had anyone else heard this?

Only if they are incredibly stupid and living in denial. If not, they know exactly what they're getting. They just have confidence that they can change the environment. It's an ego thing. In the end, the coach only has to keep the administration happy.

...or maybe just a paycheck--I doubt many College Football coaches from Texas as well-versed as the Dykes family think they can magically fill SMU's stadium. But its worth 2 Million a year to give it a try
