Re: Student seating announcement
Seems like it should be on the second level but a potentially good idea. Might as well try some stuff.

you must not be aware of the demand for the second level in the northeast corner of Ford on gamedays.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Looks nice!
I feel bad for the students who get to the game after it is full.

I thought you were going to say, this is what Ford will look like, the second half of the season.

I think its always a great idea to try something new in a situation like this-I wasn't sold though on the paint/logo/style/markings. Its too much contrast to an otherwise traditional stadium making it look cheap and temporary-but that would seem to be something that could be easily modified in the future if it were a success

I wouldn’t have wasted these on the student section (and yes, I’m more than a little jealous that the students get these). I would have made these for corporate outings. It would bring new people into the stadium and give us a chance to convert them to... marginally interested in SMU.
Even if SMU sells them for games at break even, there is a long term upside for the program by trying to fill these with people outside of the student body. On weeks where they aren’t sold, by all means put the students in there.

Just our luck - first game it will be available, it is going to pour buckets and not get used.

There is no way I could ever get people to come to an SMU game for a business function. We are FAR better off pushing student interest than trying to get unaffiliated fans from across the area to ever come to more than one game, especially given what we are rolling out there now.
Maybe in a few years (as is always the case)...but right now they would never get used.
I do think we could turn the grassy area into something gimmicky like a pool or a lazy river...even that would be better than the bush-league look of having kids run all over it.

The kids on the hill is bush league?
Wow everyone is really sour this week.
Every guest I've brought to an SMU football game loves the kids flinging themselves down the hill. It's the only thing with personality in the entire stadium.

I know we have butt heads but I totally agree with this. I think it's great to have a blend of family and rowdy student atmosphere. It's also great for young parents who have kids that can have them do stuff during the game. Just my opinion. Last thing we want to do is take away something that brings families to the game.

What about the poor dogs walking around the Boulevard-shouldn't we have a Dog Pound for them to enjoy the game?
