SMU cannot

1) Make adjustments or respond to adjustments at halftime; (2) Find a "Killer INstinct"; and (3) prevent any team from making a First down on 3rd and 21.
Sigh..I am sooo tired of this

I can't decide if it's a lack of execution or conservative play calling once we had the 10 point lead. I tend towards the [deleted] poor play calling, but the play of our offense deserves some of the blame.

I don't understand the hesitation in the backfield. They have 10 guys in the box and we run. They knew we were running every time. Awful execution and AWFUL 3rd quarter.
2 plays:
1) 4th and 1 - Take the DAMN POINTS BENNETT - geeez.
2) Get that safety and it's a different story - turnaround point of the game. (instead it's a first down and 35 yd completion play)

Pony_Fan and Curren STUDent:
you guys are dead on....that play calling, especially thos damn runs up the gut that weren't there ALL FREAKING Day killed us.... and the turning point was def. that 3rd and 19, almost sacked for a safety, then he completes it, they score later and take the game.

Key play:
UH 3rd and 19 from the 1. Instead of safety, a 29-24 SMU lead, and SMU ball, Coogs get 1st down in route to TD to take the lead 31-27.
Honorable Mention:
Mapps fumble at midfield down 31-27 with 4 min. left.
Of course, either of the 77 yd runs and the 61 yd run were key as well.
When SMU had the Coogs on their heels in the first half, we needed to seize the moment. Instead, FG and 4th down backfire netted 3 pts instead of 14. This left the door open. FG after 1st and goal in 4th qtr was a missed opportunity as well.
Frank said it would take 38 to win.

And gee whiz, the running plays are so S-L-O-W developing! O line doesn't have the ability to hold blocks that long.
Willis Fumble

How many fumbles is that this year?
I just watched the Willis fumble on Fox4, looks like the ground caused the fumble. I had a bad angle at the stadium but was pretty clear to me on the replay??
