We're close. Unless they grab a last minute commit tonight or tomorrow, it won't be a sellout. Plus, a last minute commit will only count towards ticket sales and not attendance WHICH is still important because Big 12 and other conferences are only looking at ticket sales right now.
Our bigger focus this year is making sure tickets are circulated to people who will use them as opposed to just selling out despite the name of the effort.

Are we hoping for 25K in seats?

25k would barely exceed our 2010 game average. I am fairly certain that we would get that in attendance. I think we've received a lot of positive responses from those accepting tickets. I think we'll do much better in attendance on the UCF game because we have a lot more time to place the tickets with groups that will use them.

I wanted to give a bump on this and remind everyone that we are still working to sell out the UCF game. I think it is especially important to at least match the attendance from the UTEP game since it will be a nationally televised game. The last tally from UTEP was that we came extremely close to selling out, but the attendance numbers came in around 26-27k which only hovers at last years average.
Pushing early for a sellout is crucial for our attendance numbers. The earlier we can sell the tickets, the earlier we can place them with people that will use them. Although, at this point, I think we have more takers than we have tickets donated back to the school for the UCF game.
Thank you again for all of the contributions (and help from ponyfans in placing the tickets), but, if you were considering contributing before, I hope you can muster up and make it this time around.

I hope we have good attendance the rest of the way.

Too bad we didn't have a big name come through this year to boost our average numbers this year. I think it will be hard to show improvement over the 23,515 from last year. It can happen with more good efforts like this.

UCF will be fine, Navy is always a good crowd and very festive. Tulane and Rice are the ones to worry about. Tulane is homecoming though..that helps. Rice is Sr day.

If it takes a big name opponent for us to have good attendance then that would not look good to the BCS IMO. Anybody that has a big name opponent can draw people. What is more impressive is if we draw good attendance without big name opponents. I am sure a BCS conference doesn't want a leech coming in that has to use other schools to gain good attendance. Lets do our best whoever we play for the est of the year. Go Mustangs.

Well going on that note. It will be impressive if our average attendance continues to increase this year without the "big name" coming in. It will truly show that there is more SMU and hometown support.

The attendance numbers are butts in seats. We sold out UTEP but had 25-26k in attendance.
