Well AK made me look stupid for believing his words! Burned twice believing SMU coaches. However, time to move forward again! Get bigger, stronger, faster! I've thought of a couple of names for suggestive recruiting coaches. However, my son came up with a name better than anyone I thought of. There is one man who would be independent no matter what the other coaches did and would be doing it for his LOVE of SMU. He is someone who EVERY kid would look forward to talking to - perhaps would look up the coach instead of the other way around. ERIC DICKERSON. I know, I know. That was a joke...until I though ERIC loves football and SMU. Forrest Gregg coached for a short time to get us started again. ERIC could do it short term. He would make good money and do something GREAT for his school.
This is still a joke...unless, unless...well who knows. He might enjoy recruiting GREAT PLAYERS for SMU.

Interesting as to my understanding he got demoted because of low level recruiting.

need to get younger in the Coaching Staff-I did the calculations last year-I truly can't remember but I think we were 5-8 years older per Coach than every staff in Texas and that was with Klemm

It's a crazy idea, but since we don't have a concrete list of candidates, I'll throw it out there. Someone had mentioned it in another thread earlier, but I really think Colt Brennan would be a good guy to bring on the staff. He wouldn't replace Klemm obviously, but having him on the staff in some capacity would a) add youth to the coaching staff and b) create instant name recognition for recruits. He is the best QB June has ever had and would be able to mentor our QBs.
His NFL career is over, so why not?

Did his wife fully recover from the car wreck-wasn't she hurt pretty bad. She was Haawaiian I think.We also got that graduate assistant that played for June-starts with Ellimen or something

*I feel an uncontrollable urge to profusely wish him good luck and talk about what a nice guy he is and how happy for him I am...and probably will do so every single time his name comes up in the future...also I bet he reads my posts!*

I'm not sure about his wife, but I know he was hurt pretty badly. I found an article written last month that gives updates on both Timmy Chang and Colt Brennan. Sounds like Brennan isn't doing much right now, and it evens mentions his interest in coaching.
http://www.lostlettermen.com/11-4-2011- ... se-keenum/Regarding the Elimimian guy you mentioned, its Abe Elimimian who played defensive back for JJ at Hawaii. His bio is below:

I think you suck and will say so every chance I get. I kid. And I agree with you.
SMU will be just fine.

I want good players who want to be at SMU, and don't care in the slightest where they're from. If they are talented players and want to be Mustangs, they're ideal.

Not to split hairs here, but is there ever a time when a hire doesn't need to be a good hire? (

)
Or Abe ...

Two names to add to Pat Hill:
Dan Campbell, currently TE coach at Miami will be let go most likely after sparano's firing, and he has aspirations to be an OL coach.
Matt Moore was just fired at Tech and has a lot of experience coaching the OL in a spread offense at TT and at Troy. He would be a good fit.
