All that's missing is "Chico's Bail Bonds" on the back... Did Buttermaker order these things at the last minute??

I love the few half-hearted statements of support for the uniforms. I got a half hearted statement

Anybody have a picture of the helmet?

Well it does have that throwback look.

Only 2 things I wish they would change, make it SMU above the number and get rid of the blue outline, then make the red helmets with the white mustang logo. I would prefer blue but if they are going to do this design then this is what they need to do.
An SMU fan from the other D.

The SMU white helmet needs to stay IMO.

The uniforms look like those worn by Ole Miss, except they were able to get stripes on their pants.

That picture was taken in a hallway, ad hoc, with two freshmen, not fully outfitted, outside a hotel conference room...it's time to face the music...our Athletic Department curns out, thinks, and is small-time. We need to be louder about wanting better...and I don't mean on PonyFans.

Re: Nike Jerseys?
Just saw the link. Based on the comments, I expected something much worse or hideous. They would not be my preference, but the simplicity will make them more classic. In other words, an acceptable, hopefully long term tradition. Let's not change it routinely, no black, and have a blue version availability.
Lastly, I assume we will keep white helmuts that are close to today's look.

Maybe if they had used real football players to model them? How did they clone Peter Brady?

I sent a pic to Uni-watch today. Some publicity is better than none, and if the design/quality brings derision or ridicule, hopefully the proper people notice.

Just retweeted this:

Yes, please do. "@SMURedBlueArmy: @AD_RickHart take this to #Nike. Updated 1980s jerseys, awesome Doak-era throwbacks http://smuredandbluearmy.blogspot.com/2012/01/help-this-smu-nike-jersey-mockup-go.html?m=1"
SO we got all worked up and the only major change is the running mustang instead of SMU script and numbers on the sleeve? Somehow Nike was able to make the stripes even more ridiculous. Not impressed. But could be worse.

Re: Nike Jerseys?
I will confess that I am not sure what all the fuss is about. I find them to be simple and classy looking. I love the idea of branding the pony emblem without "SMU" over it. UT doesnt have to spell out the school name, neither should we
The pants are the weak point for me but I see nothing unsurprising or offensive. I just can't wait to see us tear into the opposition, and as long as the lads aren't naked I'm ok.
