just for the record-has any one actually seen the DMN link where the players voted for blue jerseys. Not coming up on Google search like it usually does

did that statement come from DMN or just a poster in the know here on pf.com?

I read it this morning but I can not find the article now. Maybe I was dreaming what I read if so I apologize for the mistake. I will try to find the article and post it.

DMN "College Briefs" this morning stated SMU may wear the blue jerseys they wore in the Rutgers game, but that the decision will be by vote of the players.

SMU fans could be seeing red (helmets) on Saturday

SMU plans to break out red helmets on Saturday against Connecticut, pending final approval from Riddell equipment company. The Mustangs play UConn at 2 p.m. at Ford Stadium.

Many players sported the alternative headgear at practice. The helmets are solid red with solid white Mustang logos on the sides. The traditional SMU helmet is solid white with red Mustang logos on the sides and a red-and-white stripe down the middle.

"We just wanted to try another helmet," coach June Jones said. "The kids like mixing it up, so we’re going to give it a shot."

The Mustangs will wear either their normal red jersey or the blue retro ones they unveiled against Rutgers on Oct. 5. That decision will be determined by team vote.

"I’m letting the kids decide," Jones said. "Sounds like it’s going to be red right now but we’ll see."

yeah that's why I thought we might want to hit the breaks and go back to our Red and Blue corners and our respective circular firing squads

I hope they go with blue jerseys instead of red. Those helmets over blue jerseys would look sweet

Cool, so we are doing retro uniforms again for UConn game. Nice.

I know that my esteemed linebacker buddy from Little Rock, who wore that same red over royal blue uniform combination when I did, will back me when I say you guys are going to like this look tomorrow.
