That is so. They wear a darker shade than actual Yale blue.

This thread makes me wish I went to UNC or UT or even TCU - at least their fans know what the heck their school colors are! Tarheel blue, burnt orange, and purple!
I agree with ECM - Pony express jerseys are our school colors.

I doubt President Hyer consulted a Color Wheel when deciding on school colors. I'd like to think it was more "we'll wear Red symbolic of Harvard and Blue symbolic of Yale. In my life we have never worn the boring shades of red or blue worn by Harvard and Yale-and that's a good thing

I don't think that there really is a "Yale Blue." As a graduate of Yale living in CT, I can tell you that the stuff Yale sells/uses varies in color significantly. One of my hockey jersey (intramurals) is navy and one is more of a pale blue. Around campus, both "blues" are common.
Having said that, most of the Yale swag sold tends towards Navy.

Harvard and Yale are playing on Dish 159 on NBCSP. Boring, tired colors that don't work in a HD world. Harvard 21 Yale 0 and looking for more

Stallion. The pony express blue would work on HD would it not?

It's their uniform designs that are tired.
Dark blue and dark red can look good together. Take this photo and make the red slightly deeper:

I think so-everybody said it looked great when we wore them this year although I believe that color is slightly brighter than the Pony Express blue. As most know the Blue we wore in the Cotton Bowl was not our traditional blue because it was unavailiable. I think that was a Navy blue.

Yeah, but if you went there, think of all the riveting arguments you would miss on the COLOR WHEEL! Where else can you get invigorating intellectual debate on shades of red and blue!
