For the life of me I don't understand the desire for any UNC stuff - it looks petty and is in very very bad taste right now.

Blame the NCAA, not UNC.

Love the godfather signs and robo brown. This is the time for us to BRAND SMU to the larger espn watching community. Let's show them what we do - hot girls, rich kids, basketball fanatics, the mob, etc.

Hahaha, really? Petty? Running a degree mill designed to abuse the system with institutional oversight and seemingly approval (by their lack of action) from the NCAA is petty and in bad taste. Mocking that is pointing out that were the UNC incident (if you can call over a decade of that an incident) perpetuated by SMU, we would probably lose our entire athletic program. Some could say pointing out that it all began while Dean Smith was still the head coach and involved players who helped him win his 2nd national championship is in bad taste...but it wouldn't be an issue if they actually investigated it before now. The NCAA has a lot of blame...but I don't recall them making UNC give away free grades in 2 disciplines for years.

Get the SMU stuff out there, but have fun too. Absolutely nothing wrong with a few signs making fun of UNC and PSU and OSU and the alphabet soup of state institutions who instill fine lessons in ethics upon their students...so long as you link it to Brian Williams and his reporting on Moses parting the seas.

These signs are supposed to be fun...from the perspective of the person who wrote the sign. Pretty sure the football guys don't like it when signs like "Lee Corso pee's sitting down" and the like are put up there, but if they are witty they put them on anyway. So, if you want to make a sign mocking LB's alma-mater...go for it. Make it witty and funny, use crayons so all recent UNC grads can read and understand it, and have fun. Make some famous SMU alumni posters... Kathy Bates going after anyone who doesn't vote SMU into March Madness a la Misery. That type of thing. Some type of "Best in Texas" checklist, with girls, academics, basketball, football (check back in 2017), something funny like that. Have fun with this crap. No matter what you do, just do it and be there and make sure we show well.
