I'd love to see the SMU grad that wrote the heading put his/her name out there. Own it.

Is it this guy?

Joey Hayden

Digital Sports Editor at The Dallas Morning News

Dallas, Texas
Recreational Facilities and Services

Current

The Dallas Morning News,
Dedman Center for Lifetime Sports - SMU

My name is Joey Hayden, I am a senior Sport Management major and Journalism minor at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and I am an aspiring multimedia sports journalist.

During my time at SMU, I have learned how to effectively shoot video on a Sony NX5U HD camera, edit the video into packages using Final Cut Pro X, as well as effectively report and write stories. All of these have created a great base for the start of my journalism career.

Sports broadcasts, either as a reporter on on the air, are where I excel and feel the most comfortable. On Press Pass, for some segments I was required to write my own scripts, as well as create my own graphics and full screens that were to run during the segment. I also performed similar duties while working on the Daily Update, SMU’s daily morning news show. My biggest accomplishment in my time working with Press Pass was being one of four anchors on a half hour, live broadcast that broke down every recruit the SMU football team brought in on National Signing Day in February. This was the first live broadcast in the history of the SMU Journalism Department.

How do we know it was an SMU grad? If so, why in the world would he post that about his alma mater?

and we should be careful about making assumptions. Nobody wants to see an innocent kid get blamed for this.

That doesn't jive with the claim that the sports department couldn't make him change it. The digital sports editor would be part of sports would he not?

Not saying this kid is the one that did it but his title certainly suggests that its him.
