And I always thought it was because if they were lying down they could not get back up.

Proud member of the 104.
I think most people will stand and cheer when there is a reason... Having said that, we do have a number of older folks in the section who can't stand up the entire game...not me of course, I am young and vibrant

....but it doesn't kill anyone to be respectful... Having the attitude of "if you don't like it, stay at home" isn't cool as most of these people have been supporting the team thru thick and thin....just saying there is a happy medium.

I guess being discouraged from standing in 204 or 104 among all the "old peeples" is God's way of saying you have too much expendable funds for your age
Alas I am but 1 seat away from 204 but it is a more "experienced" group

I stand at the right times. I am not an Aggie but I do care. I do not yell as much as I used to just because I am an old fart but I do when necessary.
Sad thing is in the past with some of our crowds I used to yell some kind of witty sarcastic remark at the officials when I felt it appropriate and the players would turn around and laugh. We should have enough loud fans at midfield for that not to be possible.

We shouldn't be Aggies, but standing when appropriate should be encouraged. Defensive third downs, field goal attempted blocks, kick offs, TD celebrations. Please stop getting loud on our own 3rd down attempts, it's almost as bad as the wave when we are at bat down one with two on base.

If you stand up and fart it is much more noticeable.
