Important. Our guys should have their asses kicked. Very disrespectful.

Also, agree halftime show was fantastic.

How can you get halftime so right and have "find Peruna" in the same presentation?

I've found myself conflicted on the National Anthem thing. But I noticed the exact same thing.

IMO, the halftime show sucked. Was more entertaining than what we've rolled out there so far this year, but that's not saying much at all.

Sometimes I feel very independent and don't put my hand over my heart just because I can its my choice. At other times I do. Of course I'm not on national television playing sports for SMU either.

The real question is has anyone ever sipped there beer during the anthem

Just for reference....according to United States Code, Sec. 301 National anthem
(a) Designation. ----The composition consisting of the words and music known as the Star-Spangled Banner is the national anthem.
(b) Conduct during the playing.----During a rendition of the national anthem -----
(1) when the flag is displayed ----
(A) all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart;
(B) men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold the headdress at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart; and
(C) individuals in uniform should give the military salute at the first note of the anthem and maintain that position until the last note; and
(2) when the flag is not displayed, all present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed.

As someone who wore a uniform and took an oath, it doesn't bother me that they don't have their hand over their heart. I am looking forward to the day where our football team is this successful that instead of discussing how crappy the team is we nit pick about stuff like this.

Yep, I just posted the above reference because until today, I honestly did not know that it was protocol to place your right hand over your heart. I saw other people do it but did not know why. I thought the hand over your heart was only for the Pledge of Allegiance.

It's here nor there with regard to the other points, but I've always thought this was cool...not even 'his' anthem, yet he does it every time. Could mean absolutely zero to him, but again..looks good to average casual observer:

Same here :). Exactly the same position I always had. Did that code of conduct change at some point? I never remember being told to do that growing up, and I remember going to sporting events in the 70s and 80s and people not putting their hand over their heart. I remember people changing that behavior after 9-11.

I am so glad someone on here pointed out the "web view" feature on Tapatalk. Picture above does not show on my phone unless I go to the web view.

Sadly mine too but this needs to happen. Its the perfect time. Play the song over the video of the players seeing him agaim for the first time since he left. Not difficult...
