Yeah but none of these guys are going to stay in school that long. They are all NBA bound....remember?

Yankuba Sima transferring from St. John's. Maybe Hobbie can talk to him?

Man, college BB is brutal. All that time flying to Australia to recruit the kid then he bails when he is getting quality minutes??!!! Why did he come in the first place? Did he really think he would start? Did he not see our roster and realize that his first year, with his size he would play the 5? Surely he didn't think we would feature him as a true freshman over guys like Semi and Shake?
I heard his recruitment came down to SMU and Arizona. Does he really think he could get more minutes at Arizona?
He is not athletic enough currently to play the 4. Just not. He could certainly develop into that provided he gets his body in shape and becomes more agile. Right now he looks and plays like a 5. Which isn't a bad thing at all.
Remember the days when you signed a kid and he stayed all four years? Now every year is full of drama around possible transfers.

Not getting this at all.

This kid stunk it up, plain and simple. He missed easy put backs, was slow footed on defense and was constantly outplayed on both ends of the floor. I was very disappointed in what I saw from Froling given his offers and rating. I was hopeful that by late next year, he would be a solid player. But he is a LIABILITY on both ends right now - and he constantly jacks up ill-timed three point attempts that never go in.

He was just an extra body for us this year - height and 5 fouls. maybe 2-3 rbs a game and 2 points. That is what he would have given us this year. so no big loss as long as we can get a quality transfer next year.

So he isn't getting enough time on a team with no height and 9 scholarships, so he thinks he is going to get more time or be in a better situation on a better team with full allotment and lots of height? That is just borderline stupid.

We were his best shot at any kind of basketball career. He is going to have to show a better than 4 inch vertical to get anywhere in this sport. Even Dirk can jump, sorta.

All that said - we will definitely miss his minutes. Not sure how we replace him this year in conference. Semi get in foul trouble and Katy bar the door.

Obviously this kid hasn't walked around campus on a warm, spring, Dallas day. There's no way you leave this school after the sights of spring-time dresses in Dallas.

I agree NC. But we sure needed him to absorb minutes while Semi or Ben got a blow.

Now we won't be able to get them off the court and now every team will come inside trying to get them in foul trouble.

I'm done getting excited over signing "top" players out of High School. I'll reserve my enthusiasm for them after they stick around awhile.

He never looked quite ready out there to me, but what do I know. I wonder what Jay Duncan is thinking. Wilson hasn't looked impressive either. Not going to cry over those 2 going. Wish we could pick up a transfer athletic 6'10" big to play next semester LOL.

the irony is that Wilson is probably staying.

Our recruiters have to be out there scouring the countryside for someone (or two) who wants immediate minutes and can take up space inside. Its a guaranteed spot on what will be a really nice team next year. This year is looking like it could get choppy.

Pretty typical to get a big recruiting win on a player and have him show up out of shape not to mention showing a disposition of being extremely soft anyway. Then to have him quit.

Oh well I imagine we will never hear anything from him in the future.

I am disappointed because I think over time he will develop into a very good player. Additionally we need a warm body this season.
