Memphis did move from a spot in front of us to a spot behind us.

Would a memphis loss or win help us out tonight?

Seems like a bit of complicated calculus. For tourney selection, we’d like everyone we play to win every game except for against us. For conference championship purposes, I believe we are two games ahead of Memphis, so we could probably afford for them to win.

It is a tossup I think, either outcome will have pros and cons for us. Ultimately, I think Memphis winning is a good thing since we beat them twice, it lifts us both up, even if they do pass us again.
If both teams keep winning, we both still get to play Houston again, we will both get in, no worries about who has the higher NET ranking on any given day.

We’re at 49 this morning. I found it interesting, by the way, that there are several other teams ranked higher than us who have Q4 losses.

And none of those teams have what you would call "stellar" quad one results, either. UNC gets plenty of opportunities and is 2-7 but bolstered by their regular season ending win at Duke, which doesn't get any higher profile attention than that win got

We jumped from 48 to 42 today, ahead of TCU and North Texas. Just by beating Tulsa handily. I’m now convinced of two things: 1. Even the NET rankings are biased; and 2. somebody wants us in the Tourney.

The second place team in the American should be a lock. How these bracketologists have teams like Rutgers, Notre Dame, etc. safely in with horrible NETs is just ridiculous.
