Angry Dog, Deep Ellum Fred's Cafe, Ft. Worth Kelley's Eastside, Plano Love Shack, Ft. Worth Perry's, Dallas Snuffer's Twisted Root, Deep Ellum Wingfield's, South Dallas
We went to Love Shack over in the stockyards a few months back. the Dirty Love Burger was a serious contender. the kicker was a fried quail egg on it. awesome. definitely worth a stop-in if you're in FunkyTown. go when the weather is nice - it's all outdoors (or you can take it in to the White Elephant next door)

it's easy to spot, its on the south side of the street right next to the bridge over shoal creek...there is a big neon red sign...i recommend the Dag Burger(named for the cartoon)...i credit Hut's for my being at SMU, i wouldn't know a damned thing about our great school if it wasn't for all the old SI covers and pennants they have decorating the place.

Fries were okay...a cross between Jack in the Box and Arby's. For those of you who are fans of a good green chile burger, I wouldn't recommend the one from here though...not much green chile flavor. Son's cheddar burger looked pretty good though.
Atmosphere reminded my wife (Baton Rouge native/longtime NOLA resident) of something "in the quarter" (i.e. old & dirty..if not quaint). Service was cute..intended, feigned irreverance in a [deleted]'s last resort kind of way.
Cinnamon walnut root beer was good.
Wife rated Snuffer's ahead of Twisted Root, saying she prefers the atmosphere of Snuffer's (although in fairness she's only been to the Greenville Snuffer's with which we're all familiar once...she's referencing the one in Plano).
I'd rate the burger itself ahead of Snuffer's. Also ahead of Jake's and Fuddruckers. The drive down there sucked; also reminded me how most times in my life I've been to Deep Ellum, it was dark outside and I don't have too clear of a memory.
Twisted Root makes an awesome burger. Love that place.
But ... cinnamon walnut root beer?

Lots of jalapenos and tomatoes. Salmonella opotional. Bun in the shape of a bat. Del Rio is on the border so you may have a bit of a commute to the game. Well worth it though.
