according to the Massey Rankings we are the worst traditional Division 1A program in the country (No. 115) not including schools like Northern Illinois, Florida International, NTSU, Idaho, Louisiana Laffeyette

I see a scheduling opportunity

I'm glad there are people that are really consumed about this non-sense. Again, let's try to focus on how the big picture is about the new regime coming in and establishing something new for the 2008 season and beyond.

2007 SMU football is irrelevant.

As of today, there is no new regime coming in. That may change in the coming weeks and months, but as of today this story is SMU football.

Dang, I was hoping they would have given us "I Lost On Jeopardy."

The line from the song "Don't know what I was thinking of, I guess I just wasn't too bright." seems to sum up the Coaching.

I renew my call for a Toilet Bowl. Why should the best teams get an extra six weeks of practice while the worst teams, sit at home and do nothing to improve themselves? The worst two BCS rated teams meeting to determine the truly putrid. You could even get a sponsor, American Standard, Kohler, Lysol, Tidee Bowl, Ridz, or for the truly imaginative, Taco Bell or Chipotle. I can see it now, Notre Dame vs. SMU in a packed telephone booth.

Then that's not forward thinking.

No, but it keeping the eye on the ball. Deal with what is in front of you, and plan for the future. Don't look so far ahead that you forget to do the job at hand. I imagine that Orsini has given more than a passing thought to all of this, but I also imagine that he lives in the land of "this is reality", not "this is Wonderland".
