I talked to my source today. I will preface this by saying, my source is extremely close to the decision makers.
My source does not understand were people are getting this from. Source says that no decision has been made and source is confused as to why people keep doing this. The source continued to say that calls had been received from all over the country about this news.
Not doubting anyone or anything, just spreading the news.

Hope you're right. Just the thought of Paul Johnson has me in depression mode.

Is there anyone else on this board against Johnson or are all the posts authored by Bobby's ex-wife?

Will you please refrain from making any more posts. I feel like I'm losing intelligence from reading what you post.

I am not against Johnson. I am actually for him. I am just saying that my source is not confirming. I wish my source would however.
I do think this fits in perfectly with what Orsini has said, which is nothing. I for one believe we will here something early next week. My concern is that if what happened to the Kragthorpe deal (if it was true) happens again, people who leak are shameless.

I wasn't talking about you. I was referring to Whitney.

As I said in another thread, I think the search committee is either for show or they have not even interviewed candidates. Reason: only one formal search committee meeting as reported in a Kate DMN article.
I agree that the leaks are out of hand, as is the disinformation coming from other posters. I rarely ever trust CBS without independent verification. They have a culture of playing fast and lose with information.
However, I also gotta say, if a candidate will bail because it hits the media, he was never a real candidate. And if an institution retaliates against a coach for considering a different or better deal, then they are selfish SOBs and need to get over it.

Look, if you're Paul Johnson, your stock at Navy can't go any higher. This is the time to leave.
I think he is going somewhere at least. Sounds to me like GT could be a bit behind, but one never knows. That said, if Johnson stays, he risks a 2008 season less than has happened and then his command of the market for his services drops.
He has to move now.

No. But you do know that Paul Johnson's Navy team defeated Notre Dame to break a 43-year losing streak to the Irish. Just FYI.

ouch! well, maybe not as much ouch this year as in the past. ND lost to everyone
btw, GSP, how'd the Big 10 do this year? don't give me that "Ohio St. may be playing for the national championship" crap. They have no credibility after last year's title game performance.
