I don't think I've eaten at a Bennigan's in 5 years or so. Almost as long for Chili's. Longer for S&A.MrMustang1965 wrote:My arteries are opening up.RGV Pony wrote:Cardiologists will applaud the loss of the Monte Cristo sandwich.Bennigan's has been going downhill for a long time, imho. Frankly, I thought that S&A had closed long ago.
Chili's removed the Caribbean Chicken Salad from their menu a couple of weeks ago. It was BornRed&Blue's favorite item on their menu. When we asked the manager why it was taken off, he had a puzzled look on his face and said, "I'm not really sure. It was our most popular non-burger item. The 'corporate office' decided to remove it for reasons that we're still unsure of."FWMustangGirl wrote:Almost as long for Chili's.
I bet the Dallas Health Department officials weren't pleased with that one bit! No wonder it closed! Did your Mom have a Caesarean section delivery near the Caesar salad at the salad bar?ThadFilms wrote:The Steak & Ale on 635 around/between Skillman and Abrams was where my folks told my older brother and sister that they were gonna' have a little brother.
Did they wear plenty of flair?ThadFilms wrote:Steak & Ale ain't what it used to be..... I remember it being awesome as a kid (granted I liked Luby's and McDonald's as a kid), but I mean, I actually remember it being good. Last time I was at a Steak and Ale I was meeting up with a fellow PF'er at the closest restaurant to his office. Haven't been to a Shenanigans, err, Bennigans since senior year in high school. Maybe that was a TGI Fridays. Funny enough, Longhornfan68's then girlfriend had yet to meet me, so she wanted to buy me dinner.... can't turn down a free dinner, huh? (Yes, despite the "68" for those who haven't met him, he's my age, we went to high school together.)
So those are my best tales of those establishments.... any of you got some other stories? Oh, my roommate sophomore year -- when we lived in the Peach Palace by the law school -- was a Bennigan's waiter, I never visited him at work. Not once.
I'm still pissed at their corporate office for closing Big Bowl. It was the best restaurant of that whole group.MrMustang1965 wrote:Chili's removed the Caribbean Chicken Salad from their menu a couple of weeks ago.
