Actually, no one signs until next week.NickSMU17 wrote:Doh signs Big Man from Latvia for 2010, Ricmonds Vilde...don't know anything else about him
it was broken on smu rivals not 45 minutes before nick came here. Our fans really need to realize, like it or not, services matter in recruiting, and by hurting ours, we shoot ourselves in the foot.Balatro Diabolus Ex wrote:Is it on Rivals? I've been looking, but dont see anything.
Isn't the point of breaking a story is so that people will see the news and spread it? How is he hurting the service by passing along the headline? Just curious...PonyDoh wrote:it was broken on smu rivals not 45 minutes before nick came here. Services need subscriptions to stay in business. If people pull the breaking news, and put it on free boards right away, what is the incentive to sign up? Recruits don't pay attention to 3rd party free boards like ponyfans.com, no offense. It's all about rivals/scout and ESPN. Until we got both scout and rivals, we spent several years with recruits/commits getting no ink. Ink creates hype, hype helps the program, which helps gets the next kid. Ask our respective staff's how much they appreciate our services getting the word out on the kids and programs. I like this place as much as the next, and the completely free format is commendable, until it becomes the place to leak premium info from other sites. Ultimately, Vilde is committed, and it would be out before long anyway, but it's important to recognize what matters in the recruiting world. Having active services matter. They have national boards, tickers, databases etc.FriscoPMG wrote:Isn't the point of breaking a story is so that people will see the news and spread it? As for the recruit, we're becoming quite the international team. I don't care where as the players come from as long as they win games. Just hope this guy's game in no way resembles TK's!

Hey douch*-bag, I just put that we got another commit, put nothing else about the guy...didn't talk about the video thats on rivals or the write up....
It is only fair for the board to know we got another committ and his name...
chill out you [deleted] psycho
6'9 230ish, several polished post moves, solid mid range game that can extend to 3. Likes contact & boarding. He's physically mature and will contribute in the post immediately.Balatro Diabolus Ex wrote:So, does anyone have any relevant or useful information about him?
Nobody is talking about censoring info, it would have come out. It's about protecting the integrity of our premium services, mostly b/c we need them and the staffs will tell you as much. Surely you understand that, prof x. Also, tons of things are discussed on premium services across the web that never reach the free boards, so not everything is wildfire in how it spreads.Balatro Diabolus Ex wrote:How about this, if you get something from a pay site, include a link to the original article. That'll help drive traffic to their site, and hopefully help them stay in business.
Other than that, though, you cant really censor information. It gets out whether you like it or not, and no one has a real monopoly or patent on it. It's not proprietary. Once you put something out on the internet it's going to get around, the people who read it will talk about it, thats why they pay for the service in the first place.
