Nice summation. We really need the O to play well. COnvert 3rd downs and not put such a load on our beat up defense.

Better Seasons in Past

Since 1990, when we won 5 or 6 games in a season, it was the cumlation of 4 years of building. What is great about this season is that 48 of the 66 players on the travel squad are Fr or Soph. Nothing is guaranteed (remember the past), however it will be good to see a building process from 6+ wins rather than that as the climax of 4 to 5 years of development.

They know they are in trouble if SMU can play some D. I liked their future predictions for the Mustangs. BEAT marshall !

I think the article is correct-haven't even come close to seeing the potential of the offense once the QBs learn the real intracacies of the Run and Shoot and we add in an All-Star WR recruing class. No. 60 in Total Offense? Special Teams, Defensive Turnovers and Running the Ball(?) have been the real stories with a salute to a Padron's execution of crucial plays and not crucial turnovers.

Boston Pony, The biggest difference from the past, besides all the fr. and soph. on the roster, is the large amount of recruiting interest from quality prospects SMU is getting. Our next class in 2010 will be our best recruiting class since 1985 and our 2011 class will only get better.

I agree Dillard. With June Jones now in fb talent rich Texas, look for SMU to win and win big putting up big offensive numbers. Only thing that may stop SMU in the near future is a bit time college fb program coming after JJ. Can and will SMU match their offers of a big payday?
If SMU can do anything on defense Saturday, Marshall will have to wait another week for that sixth win of the season that includes the trip to D.C. in late December. Brrrrrrrrrr!

SMU will be the next BCS buster in a 2 or 3 years. Within 5 years, all those great high school QBs in Texas will be coming to him instead of the other way around. He'll be out recruiting the Longhorns and the rest of the Texas schools when it comes to QBs & WRs.
