Got an e-mail this morning from a friend who says SMU seems to have given a late offer to a CB from Oregon. Kenneth Acker (6-0, 175, 4.5, 35-inch vertical), of Grant High School in Portland (isn't that where Paul McCoy and June Jones went?), *** (rivals), #7 player in the state (rivals).
Reports offers from SMU, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Montana State, Portland State and Weber State

This one is more of an amazing punt return touchdown than a world famous punt return.

^ I like how you two are talking about the same return. lol
But yeah, I remember seeing that maybe a month or two ago. But I didn't really pay attention to who it was back then. I didn't realize until now that it was the same person. Cool stuff.

I love how one of Ackers blockers pancakes that guy, then gets up and flexes for the crowd well before the play is over haha

Don't know why Acker isn't being more highly recruited-I think he's a stud. 23 Interceptions(9 returned for TDs) in 2 years. I never found a complete stats summary on him but from boxscores I did this summary of his home run big plays that resulted in TDs only from his Senior Year only. pretty amazing. I guess the knock on him is the lack of Division 1A Players in Oregon-about an average of 13 over the last 4 years-in other words about as many as Dallas Skyline by itself.
Summary of 2009 Home Runs TDs Only By Acker:
84 yard kick off return
33 yard pass
24 yard run
19 yard run
43 yard pass
60 yard interception return
100 Kick off return
59 yard pass
65 yard pass
98 yard kick off
10 yard run
50 yard pass
70 yard punt return
91 yard kick off
31 yard pass
44 yard pass
48 yard Interception return
31 yard interception return
12 yard run
40 yard punt return
67 yard reception
56 yard pass
33 yard pass
8 yard run
33 yard punt return
All TDs-I didn't bother with some short TDs. BTW he almost always played QB on offense. The only game he didn't make multiple home run TDs was in the final playoff game and he was hurt in the first half and didn't play after the injury.

This guy is a real find it appears, and you have to commend the SMU coaches for finding these sleepers ( another local one coming in for a visit this weekend that D-1 coaches missed).....how he got away from Pac 10 teams is amazing.

Harbaugh and Riley know about him.
They had very little if any interest.
Same with Sarkisian.
Gotta be a reason.

The only question I have is what position is he going to play? We already have 4 WR recruits. This guy should be on offense. However, given the number of WR commitments are we going to put him on defense (if he commits) and why????

what's wrong with 23 interceptions(9 returned for TDs) in two years? Its amazing how a certain poster has a problem with each and every DB we bring in.
