sbsmith in the Louisiana thread reminded me that Beck Coulter played in the US v. World Game. Turns out he was named Team Captain for the World Team. Official Stats credited him with 1 sack. They didn't list tackles. But if you check out this highlites link(about 6 minutes + 2 minutes of interviews) it appears he made at least 4 other tackles-3 around or behind the line of scrimmage-I didn't see the sack but there is a Tackle for Loss on the last play before the interviews. He is easy to spot-No. 31 on the White team with the long flowing Samoan hair almost always coming off the edge. He really can run for a big kid.

damn he is fast. i hope he makes it to smu

yea he really got taken out on that punt return and got hit low to the knees on a pass rush-but he looks pretty fearless. There is one play where you can see him run 30 yards downfield but couldn't get in the play which really shows his speed

he was also the MVP of an all-poly camp that included all world USC signees and played qb in a camp the year before at the University of Oregon and evidently played well. Any word why he didn't tear it up this past year at Trinity Valley? his stats were really limited

So, what's the deal with Coulter? Was it a grade issue last year or academics in the Pacific not matching up with requirements for NCAA/SMU?

Anybody have a beat on if he will sign with us in 2011? He's got tree trunks for legs and is quick.
