Rivals Formula

If I read this formula correctly, the rankings only take the 20 highest rated players for each team. So the argument that a team signing 29 somehow has an advantage over a team that signs 22 doesn't hold water. There is some discussion about that very thing at the bottom of the page.

yeah I believe they put a cap on the Total Points in the last 1-2 years because teams like Troy and Mississippi signed 38-39 recruits-but it still applies to particularly small classes like a TCU with 18 signees or like a Boise with 10 signees-who was the moron who compared SMU's Class to Boise-I heard it several times in recent days. That shows a complete lack of understanding of the subject matter and if was done knowingly and intentionally it borders on repugnant cheerleaderism

No argument there. But a team with 18 or 19 recruits is not going to be punished very much at all. Probably less than 10 points. Again if I follow the formula. But comparing a team with 26 to a team with 10 would be ludicrous.

Not if those 10 were all rated 5* and the 26 of another team were an average mix.

not saying that our recruiting class compares to boise's but tell me what is so special about signing 10 guys: 1 four star, 6 three stars, and 3 two stars - consisting of 2 guys with bcs offers?

I have no doubt these guys are good but i have a hard time understanding what is great about that class. please enlighten me

Stallion doesn't seem to care to enlighten us ... unless it is to point out how right he is and how wrong we are ... or that we are "repugnant cheerleaders"
