it is and I believe he has a half brother who's also named Alonzo Highsmith. Anywhere close to his dad and he's a big time player

Can you imagine the place card settings for the Alonzo Highsmith family and the George Foreman family at a formal reception?

Sort of like ... this is my brother Darryl, and this is my other brother Darryl.

Are they from Arkansas?

A.J(Alonzo) is a backup QB at Miami. Saw him play in the state game in 2008. Personally think that if he wasn't such a gutless player that Hightower would have beat Allen. Very talented player who seemed more interested in sliding to avoid a hit than winning the state title.

Great message, nothing says come to SMU like calling a recruit's brother gutless. Good contribution BrianT, way to make Alonzo Highsmith feel welcome at SMU.

I think BrianT was referring to his step-brother. However, agree that negative/insulting comments are best left off the recruiting forum.

GO PONIES!!!

I Ran into him And emmitt át. A 7-11 in valley ranch during emmitts rookie year. Got emiits sig on a one dollar bill, asked who was in the car (300zx), and he wouldn't tell me. Later said it was Alonzo as he got in.

Gave 9 year old little brother that dollar. Said u never know how es will turn out, to keep that dollar.

Don't know what happened to that dollar.

Actually it is still worth exactly $1.00. It's purchasing power is closer to $0.65 from 1989.

Just saying that the best player on the field that day was DJ. A.J. did not impress me with his desire to slide whenever he might get hit. It was the last game of the year and he did hold something back in my opinion. Also, don't really give a flying flip what reddevil thinks. This isn't a recruiting forum but a forum that talks about possible SMU recruits. Never saw the step brother play so I can't comment on his high school or JUCO career but it looks like the U feels the same way about A.J. as I do.

If this is a forum that talks about possible SMU recruits, then lets keep it that way and not trash family members of possible recruits, family members that are at other schools and not considering SMU. Listen to your own message BrianT, keep it about SMU recruits and give a flying flip about the good players that we are trying to recruit. Maybe you should go post on the U's forum if you feel such a strong need to talk about the high school careers of Miami's players.

Appreciate the lovin' RedDevil. I have taken your advice and rejected it out of hand as wrong.
