Based on the D-Magazine related post - it's not too early to "predict" anything.....
2011 Reg Season - 9-3
C-USA Championship Victory
Bowl W at Liberty if it still hosts C-USA champ.
Overall - 11-3 and an ever so coveted top 25 ranking.

There are only four games scheduled that we know about so far...
http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa-11/conf ... hedule.phpAt least two of which should be wins - blast it - we better beat Navy next year.
Okay, what the heck - here goes:
I'll say 8-4 and return trip to C-USA Championship Game, which we'll win this time. Conference Champs!!!!
Overall Finish 9-5 - yes, we lose the bowl game, but respectfully to an AQ Big Twen or Big Televen opponent.
We'll be just outside the top 25 come Bowl Time, but knocking - maybe 27-28ish.

tougher schedule next year as we flip to UCF and USM. 5 very tough road games including Tulsa and UH in Division and then USM in the East and Top 25 teams in A&M and TCU in non-conference. Might have our best shot at TCU early since they are replacing 3/4th of the starters on their team.

At this point I can't say I firmly believe we "should" beat certain teams on our schedule as a poster stated above, but at some point we are going to have to win some of these tough road games you mention if we wan't to take the next step.
Sure, the schedule is harder next year, maybe on the order of magnitude of two times, but having said that, I think a 7 or 8 win season would be a disappointment next year, and we should also factor in talent growth from year to year on our team's end as well. We will have holes (biggest concern is WR), but a significant chunk of our starters will be upperclassmen and we will be catching the better teams on our schedule in a transition phase.
I think in order to have taken the next step on 2011, we need to win at least 10 games, win the CUSA Championship and end the year in the top 25. I also think we need at least one win over a ranked TCU or A&M. If we beat both of those teams on the road, I would say we are ahead of schedule and the next two years could be special.

We'll have to see how our WR play works w/out Robinson. If we don't get Juco help at Cornerback we are screwed. I'd say around the same 7-5 or 6-6. Very tough schedule. Lucked out with ECU, UAB, and Marshall from the East this year.

is it a good sign that Keivon Gamble's fb shows him wearing an SMU t-shirt?
Anyone know about him coming back? As in, not whether he wants to, but what has to happen for him to be eligible to do so?
I think if he comes back, and we have Crawford with another year, we might be ok.
Would sure as hell be nice to have McConico too

I will save my prediction until
aug. or sept. because someone out there holds your feet to fire for early predictions. I said last march that we would go 5-7 but revamped my prediction to 7-5 in Sept. - which is where we finished. Get back to me later.

Too early for me to predict anything except 1 minor football related event. I will manage my mustang football panic attacks to a fewer than 12 for the season. This will be a new personal best.

Too Early and not enough information to give my prediction but I will make a few comments.
I think we have 3 games that set up to be tough to win: TCU, A&M, and Houston. TCU will be replacing almnost their whole team but they are well coached (but so are we), A&M has better and deeper talent then us but Aggies always seem to disappoint, play to the level of their opponents, and find ways to lose against everyone but UT. Houston will be good even if Keenum is not back. They know how to score points down I-45 but they always give up almost as many.
Like I said to early to predict anything but Everything aso far is pointing to have optimisim that the 2011 season will be better than 2010. Pony UP

Anything less than 5-1 would be a massive disappointment.
