I think some of these numbers reflect moving from network to cable , especialy the larger bowls like the bcs and rose which set cable records when they aired.

11:00 am central on a thursday.... Any two teams at this time would have bad ratings.

Wow I'm shocked. A bowl game on at 11 in the morning on a day that most people were back at work between a service academy and a small, private school didn't set the world on fire?

Appears more people wanted to watch Tulsa-Hawaii than SMU-Nevada

Honestly, the only reason we aren't last is because of Army's fan base, which is sad. Not really anybody's fault though. As stated before, the time of the game was miserable. If I wasn't an SMU fan/alum, I would have turned the game off before the end of the 1st quarter no question, assuming I was sitting around doing nothing and had the time to watch it. Watching A Christmas Story on repeat for the 17th time would have been more entertaining than that game if I had absolutely no rooting interest in it.

yea it was at a terrible time and the game itself was quite boring- unless you are a die hard smu fan. our "high flying" offense put up a whopping 0 points in the first half... that should be enough to kill any casual viewer's interest.

snooze...

If it was on a Saturday or not the middle of a work day, would have been better.
That is a nice thing about the Hawaii Bowl, nothing else is on.

It looks like all the BCS bowls lost viewers as well. Wonder why.

Noon eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific on probably the last work day of the year. Yeah, the ratings were bad. Put that game at 7 p.m. it would have been much higher.

Interesting to see the OU/UCONN game came on in prime time right after the TCU/Wisconsin game, but only had about 1/2 the viewers.

does anyone know how they calculate the ratings? is there a certain amount of time that you have to watch the game to be counted as a viewer?
