Stop with the name-calling.
Stop with the insults.
Stop with the constant grammar complaints.
Stop hammering away at topics if nobody else appears interested.

Please remember:
- The sole purpose of this site is to support SMU, its athletic department, its coaches and teams
- And we operate this site on our own, outside of our regular jobs. We do not have the time or energy to babysit squabbles that take conversation away from SMU athletics and deteriorate into volleys of insults at each other.
- Our guidelines have long since been made clear: the board is not here to get bogged down in discussions about politics, religion, professional sports, greek life, etc. - there are plenty of other message boards out there for those subjects. Comments that are racist, sexist, homophobic or otherwise insulting are not tolerated. Personal attacks - at SMU athletic personnel, coaches or players, as well as at other posters - will not be tolerated. Such comments will result in removal of posts, threads or posters ... at the Moderators' discretion. (If you have any questions about a post or thread that was deleted, please send me a Private Message - public complaints will be removed.)

Sorry to have to post this. Part of what makes this board as fun as it is is the fact that, for the most part, PonyFans get along with each other and share a common passion for SMU and SMU athletics, and a genuine respect for other PonyFans. Please keep it that way.

The [deleted] thread is gone.

Its size made it hard to monitor, and we received countless complaints about its content (name-calling, attacks on SMU athletics personnel and other posters, profanity, inappropriate language and images, etc.) We granted more latitude to that thread than any other in the history of the site, but that will not be repeated going forward. There were WAY too many people taking advantage of that freedom.

In short:

• No more attacks.
• Do not hijack/derail threads.
• Profanity - including misspelled profanity or text printed over images - will not be tolerated.
• Suffice to say, the random thoughts that have popped up on the Around the Hilltop board will be monitored a lot more closely than in the past.

The fact that these things have to be repeated is embarrassing. Posts, threads and posters will be removed, and more quickly than in the past. (For those who care about post counts, for whatever reason, sorry.)

Sorry to have to do this, as many of the posters in that thread understand the ideas of politeness and courtesy. This board has succeeded for so long in large part because it is a place where PonyFans can expect constructive and generally respectful discussion about SMU and its athletic department.
