OK, here's the deal. We've been getting slammed with a ton of spam registrations lately and the skin we are using for this forum is pretty old and doesn't support the latest and greatest anti-spam measures implemented in the board software. I'm trying to upgrade the style to take advantage of that stuff but it does look pretty bad right now. So here is what I am going to do:

- Everyone is set to the old style right now (Saphic). If you are comfortable with that, you can leave it on.
- If you want to try out the new style (we_clearblue) while I work on it, you can change it in User Control Panel > Board Preferences > My board style.
- If you are not logged in you will be using the new style. This is for the anti-spam features on user registration.

I would appreciate any criticism on the new style. I do agree that it is too bright, there are things wrong in the layout and we need links on the top

I am always up for good ole fashioned beta. I am using IE9 and so far the only issue I see is when viewing posts everything is center justified opposed to Left. I find that a little hard to read.

Trying out the new style in chrome. Sharp looking. You already mentioned the quick links of the different boards back near the top need to be added.
- Another request: doesn't have the quick jump button on topics to start reading from the last time you logged in. Have to plow through the thread or try to remember where you were.

Keep doing whatever you have to do, mods. We are so spoiled that you have run the best site out there for us, free of charge, for so many years. You all do a first-rate job. Thank you.

Made some changes today to make everything a bit darker and added the links to the top. Removed the centering crap. Hopefully it looks a little better.

It is looking better all the time.

We still need the user level titles to show post total ranking (ie. Recruit to Super Legend).

The user avatars are an improvement as well.

How goes the spam bot war?

I am now on the new board and it looks good. My only request and it was the same on the ole board would be for a "next post" and "previous post" option so you would not have to go back to the main board to go to the next post.

That is unless this has always been an option and I just do not know how to do it which is a possibility.

ps: It almost looks as thought you have used the real SMU colors. Maybe so?

My only remaining request is the link that takes you to the newest post in a thread.

The print needs to be larger for us older guys.
A line between the post and the tag line would be nice.

maybe i'm the only one, but I really dislike the new style. I don't know if it's just the large banner on the left, but something about the format makes me feel like I am being bombarded with ads that look crammed into the interface.

Wow. I don't know if it is just how it looks on my computer, but the new style looks absolutely horrible. I am using internet explorer, so I don't know if that matters, but its hard for me to even get my bearings. Most importantly, the type is too small and hard to read. I went in and changed it manually back to Saphic, and it looks fine. Maybe I'm just resistant to change, but I vote for something similar to the old Saphic style.

Ie is ugly. signed on with it the other day yikes! Looks the same with tapatalk for Iphone and droid

Still have major problems on IE using a very new work comp. Quotes running across screen and other odd issues.

I can use tapatalk, but casual ponyfans may be turned off if not fixed and not come back.
