SMU has received a commitment from Kache Palacio, a DE at Conner Preston's old high school (Junipero Serra in Gardena, Calif.) who projects as an OLB in college. SMU's offer was the first for Palacio (6-2, 225, 4.7), who attended UCLA's camp and reports interest from Arizona State, Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA and USC.

Good athlete. For those who are concerned about ratings, just like a lot of others at this point he has not been rated yet. He will make 3 Star on Rivals and probably Scout too.

If rivals rated a midget as a top 100 Offensive Tackle and was a 3 star...you guys would probably ask why we werent after him....and if that midget was from TX...HOW could we not offer??

Are yall not going to complain that he doesn't have any other offers? In the Cramer thread people were furious we were the first to offer and he was a bit of a project. Sounds like the same story.

Congrats and welcome to SMU Kache.

If you want me to complain I will...

Where the hell is everyone other then Klemm?

Up until this latest commit, it looked as if we had given up on 2012 recruiting, and were focused on making our dent in texas in year 5 2013...

At this point, with only one guy recruiting, we will take what we get....

The guy has nice measurables and projects nicely in a 3-4...he is a hard fit in a 4-3, but fits us nicely...Are there hundreds of players just like him in texas...yes, but the serra pipeline with preston and this guy isn't a bad door to have open as that school puts out many d-1 guys.

However, it would still be more valuable if we opened up a couple lines here in texas...esp. if our 1 recruiter ever leaves....

Don't start that tired rant again. Would you prefer that other coaches offer players who are inferior talents to those being offered? When coaches go to schools, surely they come back and say "I liked Player A, Player B and Player C" ... after which, Coach Klemm and/or Coach Jones decide to "offer this guy, but not that guy." I hate to cite the Dallas Observer as any kind of authority (assuming it's as bad as it was when I lived in Dallas), but it points out Coach Klemm's ability to recruit "blue-chip" players to Dallas. Let him do his thing without badmouthing the rest of the staff. What do you propose to change by reiterating it over and over and over here? Will the coaches read this and make more recruiting trips, or offer more scholarships? Of course not - they work for Coach Jones, message board posters. If you're really that bent about it, talk to someone in the football office. Until then, your only possible result is turning recruits and loyal PonyFans against the coaching staff, and that helps nobody.

Welcome to SMU, Kache! You have made a decision you'll be proud of for many years to come.

Isn't that exactly what a message board if for?

Just curious, are we supposed to be little facist soldiers idolizing JJ and every move he makes whether we disagree with it or not...?

I [deleted] here, because its an outlet for discussion...coaches do read this board...I donate a fair amount to the program, and don't want to feel like we aren't doing everything we could be doing...?

We were content being shtty, now we are content being average....I am not content with either...

June Jones isn't the guy he says he is.
