Frankston-never heard of any player from Frankston in my life. Actually never heard of Frankston in my entire life. Must be Class A. 10 yards per carry ain't bad. Jones seems to love these RBs who played against nobody in high school. He already recruited small kid phenoms Eric Dickerson, Earl Campbell so I say he compares the kid to Reggie Dupard

Doubt it (Reggie Dupard comparison). Word is this guy is going to play linebacker.

When he arrived in 2008, June Jones told everybody he does things differently. I guess you can mark this in that category.

The argument was made that this staff did not do it's homework in this state. So which is it with this situation? Is this a give-up or did the staff uncover something? All these college coaches talk about having to do more work in the recruiting department to find kids. Ok, so does this not measure up because several people have never heard of this kid and are ONLY basing his ability on who offered?

There's some truth to that but if you solely base SMU's success in recruiting on who Texas/OU/A&M have offered or showed serious interest in, then you're setting yourself up for frustration. It's basically a strawman argument.

SMU is not good enough to compete for the kids that those three routinely offer/recruit. TCU can do that. But we're not there yet. That's the truth. If SMU can routinely beat UH, UTEP, CUSA schools and some other out-of-state BCS schools, then that's what we should look for.

If SMU has a great 2011, then I think the tide will turn.

But if the Marks commitment hasn't turned any Texas' kids attention, then shame on the kids.

I think the concern is not over who has offered as much as his size and speed (not that tall or fast). I just wish the coach who was recruitng Coleman had gone after Dominic Wheeler just as hard. Instead he did not go after Wheeler as hard and we had Ja'Gard Davis here at the SMU. But he apparently did not think Wheeler was worth the time and stopped recruitng him as Wheeler said in an interview. I just hope some coaches are not just going after players because they are not that hard to get.

SMU was never in the running for Dominic Wheeler.
