Wembly played and burned his redshirt. Did we have any others?
I sure hope Wembly plays later in the year. It would sure be a bummer if he burned his red shirt on a virtually meaningless game.

When is he likely to play again if Line remains healty? Very strange that they pulled his redshirt for useless garbage time

Yeah, especially when they would likely use Williams to spell Line. I don't get it. Could they be thinking about using him on D. Stallion, did you see any other freshman out there last night?

Maybe JJ has plans for a 2-back goal line play where both ZL and RW would be in the backfield. Or, RW could play as an additional blocker for ZL in goal line situations. I suspect JJ has something in mind for some later games that will be meaningful.
GO PONIES!!!

Thanks - I could not remember that one. Did he get a catch? Better use them this year, cause it will be a great waste otherwise.

I think JJ is still looking for that Devon Bess type of receiver and just hasn't found him yet so he is giving a lot of players the opportunity to excel and prove they belong.
GO PONIES!!!

I don't necessarily consider Richardson and Sanders as burned redshirts as JJ has said they would play this year. I don't think he gave any indication that Joseph and Wright would play this year. From what I saw, Wright did not look great.

"Burning" or "burned" is just a term used for the loss of a redshirt. It doen't necessarily mean that it was foolish to do so. Richardson and Sanders would have seen time regardless. I think Wright would have too considering our lack of depth on the D-line. I can't imagine Wembly or Joseph playing much if at all the rest of the season.

The reason that Jones said he was moving Wimbley to offense was because he heard that Mason was going to redshirt him. So it cannot be a surprise that it was burned. And I will be surprised if we see much more of him much the same as with Pope last year. I do not understand the thinking sometimes but apparently they feel they can continue to recruit up and do not need to keep many around longer than 4 years.

I disagree. If you have a kid who is going to play substantial minutes, you are choosing not to redshirt him. He will be a player. Throwing someone I. For garbage time in a meaningless game and then never letting him see the field again is burning the redshirt. Just my opinion.

Unfortunately, some coaches do not manage their redshirt program well.
