Dallas Area University Students to SMU games
New here, first post. Been an SMU fan for the past couple seasons once I decided to go to DBU and not OSU. Loyal to Dallas and have an idea to sell tickets for SMU. Sell student priced tickets to university students in the area that don't have a football team. For example, DBU, UTA, UTD. So these schools students will have a football team to call their own and it'll put more bodies in seats at the SMU games. And better yet, free transportation for these students. Let me know what you think.

Best idea I have heard in quite a while!

I know a TON of people from UTD and UTA, that's not a bad idea actually. And since UNT doesn't field a team, we could try giving tickets to their students too.

What about an arrangement with their schools to sponsor a tent on the boulevard (UTA students for SMU, for instance) so they can enjoy the pre-game festivities also?

Sounds like a good idea as long as there is a DBU tent! haha.

Welcome to PonyFans.com, dbupatriot. And thank you for your support. I like your idea. If there are so many people out there who have adopted the ponies as their own, then the door is open. I say come on in!

I watched DBU beat the Frauds last year. They are a fun team to watch and have a lot of talent on their baseball team.
Re: Dallas Area University Students to SMU games
Perhaps this is the academician in me, but I think it's a great idea to foster some sort of sense of solidarity between SMU and the local public universities. There are academic programs throughout the area that are stronger and weaker than others in the region. It's good for students to visit other places, even as they attend another university. That kind of stuff can be a boon for local universities come graduate admissions time.
But errmmm, go Mustangs!
