i think the ACC would be the best fit for us actually. I bet the ACC wishes they didnt have 4 schools huddled up on the same demographic - but dont know why they wouldnt want to get into the Texas market - the other names I have heard being kicked around are in markets they already have covered.

the be is too dysfunctional. they can drive the sanest person mad.
bball and football with different agendas.

when will people realize the nd is not going to join a conference?

The only way ND joins a conference is if you kill off the home of their olympic sports and they can't find a legitimate alternative.

ND has the BE, the ACC, and the B1G thinking about what might be. ND has a great national radio and TV football contract, and its BE hoops contract is money. Even if the BE blows up, it still has all those Catholic schools, Georgetown, Villanova, DePaul, Marquette, St. Johns, Seton Hall, Providence and you could add Xavier even St. Louis, and you'd not miss one step even if the six football/hoops teams leave. The only money team left in that group is Rutgers. Cincy may stay all sports and look for a football only deal. ND has plenty of places to lay its all sports head.

SMU to:

1) Big 12

2) Pac whatever

3) Best of CUSA/MWC/Big East conference
