THURS UCF DAY FOUR...JUNE JONES IN ADDTION TO BEING ONE OF THE TOP FOOTBALL MINDS IN AMERICA HAS A HEART FOR PEOPLE THAT IS BIGGER THAN TEXAS...TODAY JUNE BROUGHT A YOUNG KID WHO HAS OVERCOME MAJOR PHYSICAL CHALLENGES IN HIS LIFE TO SPEAK TO OUR PLAYERS...THIS YOUNG MAN WHO WE MET AT THE HAWAII BOWL AND HAS BECOME VERY CLOSE TO MY FRIEND BRIAN KAJIYAMA GOT A STANDING OVATION FROM OUR PLAYERS WHEN HE DID SOMETHING DOCTORS NEVER SAID HE WOULD - HE LAID DOWN HIS CRUTCHES AND WALKED TO SHOW OUR KIDS THAT NOBODY SHOULD DEFINE YOUR LIMITATIONS...IT WAS A TOUCHING MOMENT...PONY UP!

That's awesome. Love that June does this so our kids grow off the field.

This is all part of what i love about the coaching staff. Understanding what it means to be men, and gifted men. To understand what tough really is and what is special. Kudos to JJ and his staff.

Thanks for the kind words from everyone. That was us today. Kelan was asked to speak to the team today and told them how when he was little "doctors tried to write his story" by telling us he would never walk or talk and the surgeries and therapys were a waste of time. He decided to write his own story and decide for himself what he could and could not do. He told them UCF had "written the Mustangs story" the last few years is no better time than Saturday and no better place than Ford to start "writing your own story" against UCF. He said it was time for the MUSTANGS to take the next step. He then topped it off by demostrating his new walking abilities and taking 5-7 steps before falling into my arms. (Have to admit it was one of his better attempts at walking as he usually only can get 3-4 steps)

Anyway- thanks again for all the kind things everyones is saying. We are staying with the team tonight at the hotel so it will be a special time for us. We hope to get one the BLVD tomorrow early- there are a number of people we plan to thank and meet. Hopefully we have time depending on timing and other things he has been asked to do at the game. If you see him in a red scooter- grab us. He/ we would love to meet everyone.
