We might be damning them either really soon or within a year or two when they take Rutgers and UConn.

Thank you mizzou for talking to big ten last year which opened the door for Nebraska to sneak in and cause all the ripple effects.

nah, b/c in 2 years, the BE is going to be the parts bin for everyone else. we'll be in a good spot b/c of our location in DFW TV market, our position in an AQ conf, our endowment, our commitment to sports, our awesome marketing department, the Circle of Champions, 1st & 10, etc.
Thank you ACC

I agree with Dutch.
The hard part is getting into the big boys club.
Once there, changing from one group to the other is much easier.

stepping back from this, what we really needed to happen was for the SEC to grab TCU, which i believe they actually should have done. TCU is a better strategic fit for the SEC than Mizzou. That would have absolutely forced the Bevo 12 to invite SMU to protect DFW.

The SEC is crazy for not inviting us. Waiting around for Mizzou is a mistake. SEC presence in DFW would be a huge benefit for them and would create an in-state partner for A&M. Having said that, we have an opportunity to have more wins on the field in the Big East. Plus huge media exposure on the east coast and hoops, hoops, hoops.

i agree, but have come to believe there is one huge reason the SEC will not seriously consider SMU: they will not want to be perceived as being sloppy seconds to the Big 12. The Big 12 was smart and took TCU just in time.

Agree that TCU is better than Mizzo
Disagree about TCU being better than SMU
We have more upside and now are showing a commitment to athletics.
NY > NJ
SMU > TCU
case in point, look at consumer spending during SB week in Dallas vs Fort Worth, vistors chose Dallas.
Really like the idea that major conferences appear to be holding off on going to 16.
If we can continue to excel, like our chances in the future.
