Are these guys idiots? They predict UH in the conference championship game losing to a UCF team we just destroyed and somehow we go undefeated in conference play yet finish in second place to a team we are predicted to beat?

and I don't see how anyone can think we will win all four against So Miss, Tulsa, Navy and Houston, especially with three of the four on the road. I think 3-1 in those would be a HUGE accomplishment.

after the way we have been playing, 11-1 is definitely possible.

USM - tough test on the road, very hostile environment, qreat qb in Davis, but they are missing top RB and we are on a roll.

Tulsa - If we are truly a big boy, this is the game we HAVE to win. Western division foe, on the road, we are more talented and have been playing better.

Tulane - no excuses, have to win the cupcake games in division.

Navy - trip option always tough to prepare for with only 1 week. We should have won last year at their place. Better defense gives us our best chance.

Houston the road - best offense we will face all season, worst defense we will see aside from NW st. They are a buzzsaw with Keenum back for year number 9, but they have a horrible defense. Shootout, last team with the ball probably wins.

Rice - at home, should win this game

Of the remaining slate, Houston is the only one that really scares me. Their offense is kinda like the Colts before Manning qualified for AARP: their hurry-up style never lets the D get set properly, which is why they torch teams for huge yards and lots of points. I'll be curious to see how Mason adjusts for it. We can score on them, but if they get the ball first we could be playing catchup all game and may run out of time.

USM, Tulsa and Navy are always dangerous, especially with two of them on the road, but I think they are all beatable if we keep progressing the way we have and keep our heads about us. Tulane and Rice, there is no excuse to lose those, and if we get caught on our heels, we have nobody to blame but ourselves.

USM is currently 5-1. They predict them to lose to us, but they also predict them to finish the season at 11-1. This is some good stuff.

Mason started practicing against no huddle before the UCF game even though they don't employ it in order to get our D ready for anything that may be coming their way.

Hope they are doing some extra conditioning as well. Real easy to get gassed if you are going at that pace for 60 minutes.

plus, we seem to be rotating in a lot of our defensive back-ups, so a lot of guys are being prepared with game experience. that will help to maintain a defensive tempo late in games, I'm hoping.
