Posted today, from TCU fan:
Does anyone else have the creeping feeing that SMU goes to the Big East, the conference retains its auto bid, and the ponies wind up having more BCS success than we do in the B12? I think I'd personally rather have them in the B12 with us than watch their sorry [Craig James]e$ go to the Fiesta...
haha, I love it.

Hey, what can we say? After all, Patterson gave us all that help getting to a BSC conference.

Very legit post. I still think they should have gone to the BE. The Big 12 implodes at some point soon and TCU won't be the hot product with a string of 7- and 8-win seasons (and that's being kind). They would have owned the BE.
well, as long as they didn't have to play us each year as a conference game.

A logical thought from a Frog. Impressive. And I agree with him.

I was thinking about that too...about the next round of realignment. Hate to get ahead of ourselves before we are even officially invited to BE, but we may at some point be in a fight with TCU over one of the coveted 64 spots in any sort of Superconference scenario. I know some people disagree on the final number (64 vs. 80 teams, etc), but it seems to be coming eventually.
Let's see how these next few years play out with us in BE and them in B12...could be a very important period, and we need to continue with the commitment to football (IPF, stadium expansion, butts in seats, marketing, wins, BCS games, become Dallas' team, etc.)
Pony up

At least TCU fans realize how much they have [Gary Patterson]ed themselves. There was so much upside for them in the BE even before the moves being made now, and with the proposed lineup we are getting, it should be a very comfortable place to build on our success, make some serious money, and grow our brand. Have fun being used and abused by UT and OU; hope you have plenty of Astroglide, froggies!

Even at their best, they won't consistently be in the top 5 schools in Big 12. Is TCU better than....?
OU - Never (aside from that year they beat the sooners and lost to us)
OSU - No
UT - Usually not
KSU - not this year, push most years
TT - no
Baylor - push
Kansas - should usually win
Iowa St - should usually win
Mizzou (if they stay)- No
BYU (if added) - usually not
WVU (if added) - no

I see their Big 12 euphoria has started to wear off and they're realizing just how tough it's going to be for them to ever get back to the BCS especially if the conference splits back into divisions and that max 2 team per conference rule is rescinded. Their talent level is certainly going to jump but all they might get for their trouble is a string of 7 win seasons and Alamo Bowl bids. They could end up being Tech lite

One thing we will have that they would not have had is that to even get to the BE Championship, the road will go through Boise. We still need to get a lot better.

At least SMU got a Big East invite without having to slum it in the Mountain West.

Right...all that extra time in the WAC and C-USA were much better

I think it's hard for some TCU fans to admit it, but I think our road to a BCS bowl is substantially easier if we were to go to the Big East. They will have the better program and stronger football team in the coming years, but they're going to be going through an infernal gauntlet having to play Texas, Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma, OSU, etc. That's just a tough as balls conference for a team who is just being promoted to an AQ league. We'll still be fighting against Houston, UCF, Cinci, and maybe WVU who are no cake walk, but if we continue recruiting well we can contend for the Big East title in the future easier than TCU could with the Big XII title.

You have to give TCU credit though. They had a goal, not just to get to BCS bowls but to get a NC. That goal is easier in the Big12 than the BE. They are implementing their plan.
Having said that, I like our future prospects compared to theirs.
