Those are god points. I think there is a very good chance Boise says no and hope the Big 12 comes calling. I'm not sure how that will affect our invitation to the BE.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Morons. They have to go undefeated to go to a BCS game. In the BE they don't have to win all their games. Not too mention the bigger TV contract. They can always move. They act like they are stuck in the BE if they go there. They can always jump back to the MWC or to another AQ like the B12. These guys don't have a freaking clue how hard it is for Boise to win out so frequently. Dumb-asses. You make the jump it's a no brainer unless the B12 is about to issue you an invite.

You don't have to be a hater to conclude that Boise shouldn't go to the Big East. All you have to do is look at a map. Boise to the Big 12 is a long shot at best. I would guess that they have to wait in line behind Louisville, BYU, WVU - all three would jump at at a Big 12 offer. So the choice comes down to staying in the MWC or going to the Big East. If you are Boise State, the Big East's only advantage is AQ status & money - and there is no guarantee that either advantage is permanent. The disadvantages of going to the Big East are many. Terrible travel for them and their fans. Also, you banish your other non-revenue sports to the Missouri Valley or Big Sky.

This. There are no disadvantages to taking your perennial 12-0/11-1 to an AQ conference, especially the Big East where you could go 8-4 and still have a Fiesta. TCU is in more of a pickle because it has two other perennial 12-0/11-1 teams to compete with (Texas & OU)...but the money is so much better.

Boise not on the big 12 map....
Re: TV Sports Commentators Diss BE WRT Boise St
The Big East is Boise's only shot at AQ, period. They will not turn it down.

I do think that it is significant that despite all the crazy conference alignment scenarios that have been explored (TX/OU to Pac12, TX to Big10, Boise to Big12), none of the changes that have actually come to fruition have actually been that radical. Nebraska? Eh, directly adjacent to Iowa. Utah & Colorado...think they are West Coast already. A&M to the SEC? Pretty darn good fit. Just as rowdy and crazy as neighboring LSU...equal IQs. TCU to Big12...where they (and we) belong. SMU/UH/Boise State to the Big East really bucks this trend and that is concerning me as to whether this will really happen.

Well it just about has to happen. Why? Because if it doesn't the remaining pieces of the BE, CUSA, and the MWC will merge or take the best of the rest and form a new conference to try to get a seat at the BCS table. So no matter how you look at it, it's going to happen. The left overs of the BE are the ones that would really get screwed if the BE imploded.

Correct me if I'm wrong sir, but wasn't TCU slated to go to Big East this year? To think that geography or fan travel has anything to with cfb is naive.
And Big 12 is no picnic either...dysfunctional, members leaving every year, controlled by Texas, etc. No guarantee that conference even survives for much longer.
And did you say that BYU would jump at a B12 offer? Funny, because as I recall, they were offered and said no. Just like AFA did. Not so sure WVU is ready to jump at the invitation either. Maybe Louisville, but are they really an improvment over Mizzou? No. Those schools just agreed to up the exit fees...why would they do that if their departure from BE was imminent?

Funny. TCU would have done it to get out of the MWC. Boise shouldn't? They only have to travel with football, no other sports the rest stay in the WAC where they have been forever. That's right they should sit around and wait for the B12 or some other conference to join. Plus the BE going away, but wasn't the B12 going away too? I guess SMU should stay put in CUSA, better here where it is safe and wait for the SEC bid to come our way.
You should know this better than anyone else on this board. You jump at a chance to go to an AQ conference and see what you can make of it, instead of sticking around and praying things get better in your own conference. This is TCU's model (WAC/CUSA/MWC/BE sort of/B12).
You can always go back down the ladder and play in the WAC/MWC/CUSA/Sun Belt.

Yeah I'm not sure the travel issue is really a big deal. Its just football. They've proven they will fly anywhere to play anyone. Hell the MWC is a geographical mess also w/ Hawaii, Wyoming, New Mexico.

Re: TV Sports Commentators Diss BE WRT Boise St
Yea the only plausible argument of why Boise should stay is that it is easier to get to a BCS game going through a weak MWC than through the big east. That point is debateable but at least valid. However the BE offers an easier path when you factor in a conference champ game and a super conference champ game (in the new Merged conference) and way more money, Even if the propsed super conference gets AQ status the tv money will be less because to many of the schools are of Rice and UAB caliber and small markets and even if you go to aa BCS game you split the money with 20-24 schools instead of 12 (and the other bowl tie ins are way more valuable in the big east than MWC and CUSA bowls). Finially, Boise does not want to just go to a BCS game they want to win a National championship. I would take the oppertunity for a BCS game in an "off" 8-4 or 9-3 year plus the possibility of a NCG in an 13-0 year over a possible BCS birth any day of the week and twice on Saturday.
