The SMU Mustangs head into Saturday's game at Southern Miss riding a five-game winning streak, their longest in more than two decades. But according to safety Ryan Smith, the Ponies should feel confident about themselves ... but not arrogant. Overconfidence, Smith said, is not a risk against a team as athletic and talented as Southern Miss.

Terrific story. Ryan is a smart guy, and he sounds like he has his head screwed on right. Yes, we're winning, but every team has to learn how to handle winning. With leaders like Ryan, we have a good chance to continue.

Southern Miss in Hattiesburg scares the hell out of me, but win or lose Saturday night, this season has a chance to shape up as really special.

On a sidenote, I'm glad to see your program on the rise. You guys took the worst hit in the history of college football and it's good to see you recovering from it.
