Geez, just listen to Dutch. One, he's right. Two, he sells kick-as* burgers. You don't need anymore authority than that. Oh, he's also right.

I've never claimed to be "in the know" but I have a close friend who works for a political figure w/ major ties to SMU that said told me this morning that this thing is still way up in the air and the apprehension isn't coming all on the side of the BE. SMU has serious concerns about moving there and then immediately losing WVU, Louisville, Cincy and the BE losing tremendous negotiating power with the networks on their new TV deal. Also, there is the Boise issue. They are in no hurry at all to make a decision so this whole thing will continue to drag on. It's going to be quite a while before we have any concrete information to report. Just what I was told.

Even if any combo of LV, WVU Rutgers or Uconn leave, we should still go. Plus, I really haven't heard Cincy in the mix at all...I think they and USF are stuck. It would still be better thatn CUSA-MWC merger.

I'd guess everyone is waiting on Mizzou, contrary to what the Big East commish stated. No one moves until they know what they are moving into.

I agree with Nick. Prozac.

This is a large, multi-school, multi-conference deal. If Turner walked into this with his pen in hand, I would be more annoyed than if this drags out until after bowl season.

Go to 1st and 10, order a double, and chill the [Big East] out.

It's not going to happen. Panic!!! Boise holds all the cards they would rather be in a watered down MWC/CUSA merger that does not include UCF/UH/SMU with no shot at an AQ BCS bid than flying east to play some games go 8-3 and still make a BCS game. They also enjoy splitting revenue with the schools that could careless about actually competing and just want their small paycheck (looking at you Tunlane/Rice/etc.). They love to be only team to sniff the top 25 each year in their conference. Oh no, SMU is in trouble!

we are roughly in TCU's position, by proxy...lots of variable in play, the main one appears to be no formal invite. Thas said, get a bag of popcorn (or a burger at Dutch's place), and hang on...
